The next verse is in the bass of the organ answered by the trumpets. A stacked motif in the trumpets, alternating with the organ followed by more trumpet flourishes. A modulation takes the trumpets into a higher range and altered melodic materials until it all ends in a majestic conclusion.

My Country ‘Tis of Thee
For three trumpets and piano the piece starts out in a fanfare fashion and quickly settles down into an expressive mode with the piano creating a flowing pattern. Two trumpets at a time play in unison, switching off between parts. The first then adds a obbligato fanfare, then adding all three parts in harmony. The next section alternates between easy flowing sections and vigorous additions. The piece quickly concludes in a stately fashion. The piece would serve well as a fanfare in various venues.

For trumpet trio and piano, the trio begins with a majestic statement and soars to a high point where it then settles down to a more solemn style. The three solo parts now exercise smooth contrapuntal interaction and then abruptly becomes more agitated. After coming to a strong climax the three parts, unaccompanied, become very expressive and tentative only to be followed with the piano joining in a strong sense of resolve.

An accompanied trumpet trio beginning with a piano introduction. The first section is a blocked harmony in the trumpets with the first carrying the melody. The second section uses the same underlying rhythmic patterns but now the structure is in a different meter (quadruple vs the previous triple) which gives an extended feeling. A couple modulations take place and the style becomes smooth and expressive. This all leads towards the Coda where the whole premise shifts the moods of the beginning where it increases in tension and ends with solid impact.

This trio begins with a joyful piano introduction which leads into a three part harmonization of the instrumental parts. The second section is a lilting (waltz feeling) in block harmonization and then goes into a bell-tone rendition of the tune. A brief transition in a slower, expressive style comes to repose where it concludes in the joyful style that the piece began.

This leads into the next section which gravitates to a different meter as well as key. The parts interplay giving a sense of constant movement. Another modulation takes place and the mood is one of victory and solidification. This continues until a triumphant motive of celebration and victory.

A trumpet solo which begins with a sense of agony in the piano using the tune of “Beneath The Cross Of Jesus.” The solo then makes a declamatory statement and then becomes very expressive in a recitative-like section. This section is expressive and then becoming more vigorous using thematic material from “At The Cross.” After another transition the piece become vibrant using the theme of “The Cross Is Not Greater than His Grace.” A swift modulation and a faster tempo the piece ramps up a vigorous flair where it elevates to a strong crescendo including some triple tongue motives.
