I Sing The Mighty Power
Beginning with a single violin, the piece gains momentum by adding the other parts until it breaks into a style of delight. It then becomes smoother and more thoughtful. Next is a cello solo answered by the other parts in a variety of punctuations. The ensemble becomes more solidly scored followed by a lighter texture and erupts into a joyful ending.

Our Great Savior
Scored for flute, clarinet clarinet (alto sax) and piano this piece is a bundle of cheer. The melodic material is passed around between the voices and gains embellishment as it progresses. It ends with a burst of delight!
-
Three Hymns Of The Cross
For traditional woodwind quintet scoring with optional alto sax and bass clarinet parts, this piece begins in a plaintive fashion moving toward a central, Celtic flavor–returning to the opening mood.

A Mighty Fortress Is Our God
Unusual, emotive and restrained version of the Luther classic The introduction in the piano is presented in an embellished fashion. The solo states the theme in a straight-forward manner. After a brief interlude the solo continues in a different register. Another brief interlude and the soloist continue in a more ornamented manner this time. The piano now states the theme in strong block chords while the solo is very active as an obbligato. Both voices present thematic materials taken from the opening sections. The Coda gives a motivic statement of the opening theme and resolves to a solemn end.
