This trio for Easter renders a simple and gentle movement that is continually flowing with tontrapuntal lines that exudes wonderment- truly a piece that causes reflection. There is activity in each of the parts and the melodic material is passed around for interest. If you want a piece for reflection this might well be the piece for you.

This unaccompanied violin trio begins with a unison statement, then breaks into harmonic development. There are brief moments of harmonic shifts to add variety to this otherwise easy piece.

This is a brass trio with piano accompaniment. The brass scoring is for trumpet, horn or flugel horn, and trombone or baritone. The style is presented in a majestic manner first in block harmonies and then in a hocket structure. After a florid manner the piece follows a somewhat straight forward manner using fanfare motives in the upper parts the motion becomes more imitative. The final section is quite imitative and uses an overlayering of parts producing enjoyable passing around of the tune in a contrapuntal manner. With a final fanfare the piece concludes.

A brass trio scored for trumpet, horn (opt. trp.) and trombone, (opt BHTC), The introduction opens with a motive that is passed amongst the three parts, The first presentation of the tune is likewise fragmented and passed around the ensemble giving a lot of interest- this carries on throughout the whole first section. The second section’s emphasis is given to the trombone and later handed over to the upper voices. A modulation takes place where the style is much like the introduction. This continues on until the coda where it begins quietly and builds to a statement of affirmation.

A somewhat straightforward piece from the standpoint of melody but it has a constantly evolving sense of texture. It’s as if a person were walking through a garden and reflecting on the surroundings and the implications of what they mean.

A brief modulation and interlude leads into the next section after another modulation with the parts interplaying amongst themselves. Yet, another modulation with block harmonies giving over to yet another modulation and a final ending!

This trio begins with a joyful piano introduction which leads into a three part harmonization of the instrumental parts. The second section is a lilting (waltz feeling) in block harmonization and then goes into a bell-tone rendition of the tune. A brief transition in a slower, expressive style comes to repose where it concludes in the joyful style that the piece began.

A trombone trio with opt. BHTC that is unaccompanied. The introduction begins in a duple meter with unrelated thematic material. The first section is presented in a chordal fashion with pedal in the third part which takes over the melody at the chorus. A modulation takes place where the melodic line is in the second part with the other parts in a moving counter-fashion. The third section begins in a modulated move with the three parts interacting continually until the third part begins its pedal movement once again until a solemn end.

A French horn trio with piano accompaniment. The opening statements in the horns are rather solemn while alternately punctuated with piano responses. After some imitative statements the piece lies in repose.
