Springs Of Living Water
A unaccompanied flute quartet with optional fourth part clarinet. The introduction begins with a “bubbling” motive which leads into the tune stated in the lower voices with responses interspersed in the upper voices. After a short flourish the melodic material resurfaces like the beginning. A modulated interlude is tossed about leading into a another modulation with extraneous motives. And yet, another modulation where the melody is more staid until it leads into another modulation which acts as a coda concluding with a celebratory flourish.

This Thanksgiving delight is scored for four trumpets with an optional horn part. While the melody is well-stated, it is punctuated with many obbligato motifs.

I Want To Be There
Delightful! Delightful! Delightful! The style of this work just makes it a continual joy! The whole first section features the lead sax with chromatic underpinnings. The interlude features the tenor line at a slower pace and then the whole thing erupts into the joyous feelings of the first section. It then catapults into a punctuated ending making a final statement.

This is a traditional string quartet with optional third violin. The melodic material is passed through the various ensemble parts and the textures vary greatly with even a brief fughetta section.
