Holy, Holy, Holy
This sextet takes a different twist on what is typically a reverent piece and makes it majestic. From the traditional 4-4 meter it is presented in 6-8 giving it a lilt. The trumpets weave in and out with the melodic material while the other brass parts punctuate the lines. The second section is much in a fugal structure (in 4-4) and then gravitates back to 6-8 swapping the theme between the upper and lower parts. The contrapuntal activity increases as the tension mounts ending with a bold proclamation.

God Rest Ye Merry Gentle Brass

Come, Ye Sinners, Poor and Needy
With a variation of meters and rhythmic devices this piece has a driving forward thought to it giving a sense to the content of the title, Motivic devices are tossed around the various instruments and in different combinations giving it a constant change of colorful sounds. It concludes with a decisive splash of determination.

O Holy Night
A brass sextet which has a gentle motion to it (much like a barcarolle) presents the melody in the middle voices adding more harmonic richness as it proceeds until the upper voices take over the bulk of the thematic material- all the while continuing with the pulsing patterns in the accompaniment. The next section is carried by the inner voices once again while the out voices added tension and impact. The middle section is slower and more plaintive fashion which has supportive material that weaves in and out until it comes to a climatic point. It gradually retreats until it reaches a sense of calm and solitude. (Opt trp for horn and BHTC for Trm 2)
