I Need Thee Every Hour
Rich has only written a few arrangements for strings, and groups that use these will end up purchasing all of his string titles. Rich is unique in his combining classical stylings with contemporary hymns, gospel songs, or praise and worship choruses.

Rich Heffler has managed once again to place some outstanding classical idioms into an arrangement of a great hymn – only this time, he does it for the string ensemble. Reminiscent of some Beethoven-like musical figures, this setting is pure delight.

What Wondrous Love Is This
This piece begins with a single violin, then adds a second, then adds the viola, and then opens up with the richness of the full ensemble. The simplicy continues with two violins with light accopaniment and then blossoms u with the full ensemble once again. The harmonic and countrapul tension builds to the end with the establishment of a picard third, chord.
