Were You There
A Rich Heffler Music arrangement. This solo is presented in a reverent setting in a minor key. The middle section shifts momentarily to a major mode and then quickly back to a minor mode. The soloist is provided the opportunity to express with a fluid cadenza which gives way to a final statement of harmonic shifts coming to a solemn close.

Beulah Land
A Brass choir written for three trumpets, Horn, two trombones, baritone and tuba. The piece begins in an excitedly manner in the middle brass and then punctuated with the upper brass with ornamental devices. It continues in this form for quite some time until a modulation. The mood becomes more solemn with the theme alternating between the middle-lower voice and then the upper lines. The theme is now present by the trumpet and horn with snippets of rhythmical activity in the remaining trumpets. As the piece begins to conclude the motives are tossed about until a final conclusion.

I Want Jesus To Walk With Me
A Woodwind quartet for two flutes and 2 clarinets. A beginning that is yearning in emotion and subtle shifts in harmonic and linear lines. A modulation to a higher tessitura in strong block chords gives a feeling of strength. The piece then settles back into the original key with a series of imitation of the various parts. The piece becomes more solemn as the pitch levels drop until settling into a final cadence.
